EDUCATION STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN READ ADAIR COUNTY — A total of 19 Lindsey Wilson College education students participated Tuesday in the annual Read Adair County, held at Adair County Elementary School.

The event is designed to help Adair County school children and their family members appreciate reading and celebrate the legacy of one of America’s greatest children’s authors, the late Theodor Geisel. Students also enjoyed a pizza party, and the top readers received awards at a ceremony.

Better known under his pen name, Dr. Seuss, Geisel’s birthday is celebrated nationally on or around his March 2 birthday as a day to encourage children to read. Geisel, who published 44 children’s books, died in 1991 at the age of 87.
